| Mariano....your muscles are like 70% water.....so its like watering a plant mate, you have to fill those muscles up with water to stay full and pumped, its very important!!!......I do also drink natural juices, like apple and orange, but too much of those and you take in too much simple sugars which will make you a porker (fatty) LOL Alex.....Nitrovol is a Protein/Carb Supplement by BSC......should I be telling you my secrets??? | |

| Hope everything goes OK with MRI skeeny.. Erik had a frozen shoulder for a few days but seems to be getting better as well. As for not being able to access forum, nothing at your end, its the wireless server here and AFP attempts at cost cutting on communications, its all good all it means is that we have to enter forum whilst on shift only. | |

| G'gay Perves.....update: Went back to specialist to get results from MRI, he said it looks like the tendon running up the side of my wrist is dislocated ...... now wants me to to see a specialist othopedic hand surgeon....I asked if a simple chinese burn would fix the the prob, unfortunately not. Anyway, as for my index finger knuckle which is also ratshit, he injected cortisone into it and it now feels 10 times worse....hopefully it settles down and it eats away at the inflamation build up in there causingthe sharp pain goin on. I even had to get annie to put my socks on before work.....I feel like an invalid! On the training front, ZERO! I have tried to be good and just take a chill pill, that doent seem to be helping at all, so now I am going to re-evaluate and just work on legs if thats all I can do atm, at least do somethin. I hope I can get into see this hand surgeon quickly, see what he says, fingers crossed no OP, Im over that shit! On a brighter note...my fav boxer Roy Jones Jnr is getting set to make a mockery of Danny Green on Wed night....anyone want to come out for some dinner to watch the fight card with me at a pub? | |

| Back in the gym tonight (midnight) after work with Beggsy. I can only train legs atm, and am trying not to involve the wrist at all.
Smith Machine Front Squats: Bar only x 20,20,20,20,20 (1min rest)
Body weight Squats: 1 set x 10mins duration x 180reps.......before when I used to do this for erging I was up to 300+reps in 10mins so thats the goal.
Leg Curls: 30lb x 20,20,20,20,20 (1min rest)
Smith Machine Standing Calf raise:bar only x 20,20,20,20,20 (1min rest)
Seated Calf Raise: 20kg x 20,20,20,20,20 (1min rest)
Not much, but at least its a start, gotta stop feeling sorry for my self and do something at least. | |

| Subject: Result from hand surgeon + full body weights Tue Dec 08, 2009 12:46 pm | |
| Over the past few weeks I have backed off the weights and everythingelse while trying to get my diagnosis sorted formy wrist. Last week I went to see the hand surgeon who informed me from the result of the MRI that the shealth holding the ECU tendon in place has been torn off Surgery is the only procedure to fix and rebuild the sheath. The doc said that this is a bitch of an OP and he ants me to get more bone scans and ultra sounds done beofre he makes his final recommendation. HE also said if I can get away with NOT having the op then thats what he would want. That didnt make me feel too good knowing that even he was frowning upon management or this injury. FUUUUCCKKKKK!!! Now tomorrow I have to get another dynamic ultra sound done, so the doc told meto excercise the wrist to agitate it so the result of the ultrasound would show more. So today I tried weights. Felt like absolute shit, with the lack of weights on the wrist the muscles are getting weak and im noticing more pain in my movements. Tomorrow morning he told me to go out in the surf ski for a long paddle to use my wrist and infame it, Im a bit worried bout that! Anyway today after work I did: All reps slow and continuous focussing only on muscle contraction Supersetting = 2 exercises done back to back without any rest. Superset Smith machine front squats: Bar only x 20,20,20 with Lying Leg curl: 30lb x 20,20,20 Superset Wide grip lat pulldowns: 30kg x 20,20,20 with Smith machine incline bench press: bar only x 20,20,20 Superset Smith machine standing calf raise: bar only x 20,20,20 with seated calf machine: 20kg x 20,20,20 Superset smith machine seated military press: bar only x 20,20,20 with barbell shrugs: 40kg x 20,20,20 Superset barbell curl: olympic bar only x 20,20,20 with tricep push down: 30lb x 20,20,20 Superset Forearm curl: 2.5lb db x 100 with rev forearm curl: 2.5lb db x 100......right hand only Today i noticed it most on the barbell curls, the wrist felt royally fucked...aghhhh See how i go tomorrow, will only go out if its flat water. I have no idea how it will cope | |

| Well today was my appointment for my dynamic Ultrasound, so in the morn I had to go out and stir up the tendon with a bit of kayaking. Went down to Rose Bay hoping the water would be calm,,,,and it was so very happy with that. I stayed in amongst the marinas and close to shore in case the wrist decided to snap off or somthething similar. Anyway, I went out for 40mins, the wrist was tightly strapped, and I took it easy. I was happy it held together but the 40mins was as long as I could handle, every now and then I hit a bit of chop and could feel the pinch. went and had the ultra sound and it was confirmed the tendon keeps slipping out of its socket when i twist my wrist, it makes me feel sick in my stomach.... | |

| I went back to the surgeon who had already spoke with the Ultrasound doc. They both agreed that my injury is a tricky situation. Very rare and not ideal for an athlete to get. There were two options. 1. Surgery - they both said that this should be last resort, things have the possibility to come out even worse after ad op. I would also have to be in a cast from my fingers up past my elbow which would stuff all training and also my employment. 2. Second option is to slowly attempt to get back into training as rehab and hope my body adapts to the subsheath tear and can cope with the tendon being unstable. Hopefullywith light weights and slowly attempting to get back on the water then the muscles surrounding the tendon will strengthen and make it more secure. So, not a good situation to be in but I dont have any other choices. So last night I did another full body weights session. Light weight. More of a circuit style session suppersetting exercises with high reps. NOT HAPPY JAN! I will continue with this and keep raising the reps slowly, and if possible start adding some more weight in soon. IM gonna have to listen to my body carefully with this one. Superset Smith machine front squats: Bar only x 25,25,25 with Lying Leg curl: 30lb x 25,25,25 Superset Wide grip lat pulldowns: 30kg x30,30,30 with Smith machine incline bench press: bar only x 25,25,25 Superset Smith machine standing calf raise: bar only x 25,25,20 with seated calf machine: 30kg x 15,10,10 Superset smith machine seated military press: bar only x 25,25,25 with barbell shrugs: 40kg x 25,25,25 Dumbell Curls: 10kg dbs x 20,20....ouch.......dropped to 5kg db's x 20rep.......the wrist feels really dodg yon this exercise now ......gonna be careful with it. with tricep push down: 20kg x 20,20,20 Superset Forearm curl: 2kg db x 100 with rev forearm curl: 2kg db x 100......right hand only | |
